Drug-based Therapy

The term drug-based cancer therapy includes all therapies that combat cancer using either tablets (“oral therapies”) or infusions (“infusional therapies”). Today, not only “classic” cell toxins are used, but also modern therapies such as targeted therapies, antibody therapies, immunotherapies and cellular therapies. The Inselspital is the first hospital in Switzerland to use the novel cellular CAR T-cell therapy.

Drug-based cancer therapies are carried out at the University Clinic for Medical Oncology.
