Malignant tumors in the head and neck area

There are many different types of head and neck cancer. Depending on the origin and type of cancer, the treatment options differ.

  • The chances of recovery also vary. By far the most common malignant tumor in the head and neck area originates in the oral cavity mucosa, pharyngeal mucosa or larynx.
  • The nose and paranasal sinuses can also be affected.
  • Other cancers arise from the thyroid or salivary glands.
  • In addition, cancers from other regions of the body can occur in the form of offshoots (so-called metastases) in the head and neck area.
