Head and Neck Tumor Center
Malignant tumors in the head and neck area
There are many different types of head and neck cancer. Depending on the origin and type of cancer, the treatment options differ.
- The chances of recovery also vary. By far the most common malignant tumor in the head and neck area originates in the oral cavity mucosa, pharyngeal mucosa or larynx.
- The nose and paranasal sinuses can also be affected.
- Other cancers arise from the thyroid or salivary glands.
- In addition, cancers from other regions of the body can occur in the form of offshoots (so-called metastases) in the head and neck area.
